Jannik Sinner Says He Looks Up to Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz Ahead of Six Kings Slam Final

Jannik Sinner has opened up about his admiration for tennis legend Novak Djokovic and rival Carlos Alcaraz as he prepares for the Six Kings Slam final.

The world No. 2 booked his spot in the championship match after defeating Djokovic 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-final in Riyadh. He will now face world No. 1 Alcaraz in what promises to be another blockbuster clash between two of tennis’ brightest stars.

Sinner and Alcaraz have dominated the 2025 season, meeting in three of this year’s four Grand Slam finals. The Italian star admitted that competing against top players like Djokovic and Alcaraz has pushed him to improve every aspect of his game.

“For me, it’s very important to improve,” Sinner told Netflix after his win over Djokovic. “At the end of my career, I want to say I did everything possible to achieve 100% of myself.

Success will never change me as a person. You need rivalries. You need better players than you. Carlos is an all-around player, an incredible talent. I look up to these guys — I look up to Novak, I look up to Carlos. That’s what motivates me.”

Sinner has already lifted four Grand Slam titles, including victories at the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year. He also reached the French Open and US Open finals but lost both to Alcaraz.

The rivalry between the two has become one of the sport’s most exciting storylines, with Sinner and Alcaraz facing each other 15 times on the ATP Tour — Alcaraz leading their head-to-head 10–5.

Looking ahead to their Six Kings Slam showdown, Sinner expects another thrilling encounter.

“I look forward every time we face each other,” he said after his semi-final victory. “It’s great for us — it’s going to be a great battle. I’ll try to be as ready as I can. It’s a huge honour to play against him again. I hope everyone enjoys it — we’re all ready for a great Saturday night.”
